You were driving home in the dark on one glass-slippered heel, window sliced open and bathing in the snowliquor of the night air. We heard you singing, and couldn't bear to wake you.

Yes we're going to a party party.

Lots of new baby pictures today (click the green button in the sidebar). Genevieve's first birthday was a rousing success. Lots of babies, lots of parents, lots of friends and families. A fantastic double-decker yellow cake with strawberries, blueberries, kiwifruits and whipped cream, made by mama, which more than one person described as being "childhood cake". A new song by papa. Lots of super-neato toys and fabulous frocks. A donkey that remains tailless because we never got around to pinning on his appendage. And many balloons. So many balloons.

And yet, despite all the balloons, we discovered the morning after that there were many leftover unused balloons, and lots of helium left in the tank. So we decided to blow up all the rest of the balloons and walk down to the farmer's market and give them away to short people. Which we did. Only lost four balloons along the way. Many happy children in the plaza were holding our green and blue and purple balloons while they watched the bellydancers. We liked it so much that we're going to make it an annual tradition: the day after Genevieve's birthday party, we give away lots of balloons to short people.

Okay. Enough of me. Click on the green button already.
